Born and raised in New York, JLM began painting at 8 years old. By 13 she was awarded a certificate by the Metropolitan Museum of Art, MET in New York City for draftsmanship. Initially, she attended New York's FIT majoring in fine arts, but then realized there was a lot more training to be had and decided to live abroad. In Germany she took time for travel and exploration, and earned a bachelor of science in psychology, minoring in physics. At this time she had a greater understanding of people, color, and objects related to space & emotion in the most literal sense. JLM's style of painting is closely associated with technology and greatly influenced by cubism and geometric shapes. Some other alternatives as demonstrated here - an 'introspection' to abstract expressionism in art and print media. JLM extends gratitude to her parents and grandmother for fostering her artistic capabilities. She now looks forward to earning a PhD in engineering.
